One number. Every point explainable.

No black box, no “proprietary algorithm” hand-waving. The Rating is computed from externally verifiable signals with public weights — the full methodology is the marketing.

Frequently asked

What is a Folderly Rating?+

A free 0–100 score with a letter grade (A+ to F) that measures a domain's email sending posture: SPF, DKIM, DMARC, blocklist presence, reverse DNS, MTA-STS, TLS-RPT, DNSSEC, BIMI, domain age and parking status. Every deducted point cites the exact externally verifiable signal that caused it.

Does the Folderly Rating predict inbox placement?+

No — and we say this plainly. The Rating measures configuration (sending posture), not behavior. Real mailbox-provider reputation also depends on engagement and complaint rates, which are not externally observable. A high Rating with bad sending habits can still land in spam — fixing that behavior is what Folderly's platform does.

Why did my domain score differently from a competitor's?+

Open both score pages and compare the per-signal breakdown — every point difference is itemized. The most common gaps: DMARC policy (worth up to 22 points), SPF lookup-limit breaches, and blocklist listings (which cap the grade at D).

How do I improve my Folderly Rating?+

The score page lists each lost point with a fix. The highest-leverage moves for most domains: publish a DMARC record and ratchet it to p=reject, keep SPF within 10 DNS lookups with a strict qualifier, and get delisted from any blocklists. Folderly's free SPF and DMARC generators handle the records; the Folderly platform handles the rest.

Is it really free? Do I need an account?+

The headline score, grade and full per-signal breakdown are free with no signup, for any domain. Your email is only needed if you want the full written report delivered to you.

How accurate is the DKIM check?+

Honestly limited, and we label it that way. DKIM selectors are only discoverable by probing common names; teams using custom selectors are invisible to a probe. We report DKIM as 'detected' or 'not detected via common selectors' — never 'missing' — and score the unknown case at a neutral floor, never zero.
